A quarterly magazine about climbing in Western Australia
Western Climber started as a members-only magazine and has been open to everyone since 2016. It's on hold at the moment - we don't have enough hands to put new issues together. Every past issue is still here to read.
Western Climber keeps climbers and other outdoor types up to date with what's happening around the WA climbing scene. Whether you've been on the rock for years and want a new challenge, or you're just getting started, there's something in here for you.
Each issue covers a bit of everything - good climbing routes, tips and technique, safety, what's coming up, and stories from other climbers. You'll find route descriptions, some great photography, and advice from people who know the local rock.
To read it, have a browse of the issues below. It's a good way into climbing in WA, and we'd love you to be part of it.
At CAWA we care about WA's climbing history and want to look after it. Western Climber is one of the ways we share what we know, bring climbers together, and show people more of what's out there.
So whether you've been climbing for decades or you're on your first season, dive in and see what's waiting for you across WA.

Got a story to tell?
Western Climber is on hold because we're short on volunteers. If you'd like to write, send photos or help put an issue together, we'd love to hear from you.
