About event
Ten days of coastal granite, long summer evenings, and the perfect chance to reconnect with the CAWA community while exploring some of WA’s most iconic climbing landscapes.
Celebrate the end of 2025 with CAWA on our annual End-of-Year Trip to Albany and its surrounds, running from 26 December 2025 to 4 January 2026. Albany has long been one of WA’s most cherished climbing regions, known for its sweeping granite coastline, adventurous sea cliffs, and unique inland domes - all of which have featured across past CAWA trips.

Over the ten days, members often visit well-loved areas such as the dramatic ocean cliffs of Peak Head, the excellent single- and multi-pitch routes at West Cape Howe, and the distinctive granite of the Porongurups.
As with all CAWA trips, this is a peer-based, self-sufficient climbing trip.
No instruction, guiding, or training is provided. Participants are responsible for their own safety, route choices, gear, transport, and camping arrangements. You must bring adequate equipment and feel comfortable operating independently in the terrain you choose to climb.
Evenings are relaxed and social, giving everyone a chance to unwind, share stories, and enjoy Albany’s beautiful surroundings as we bring in the new year together. We will have a solar-powered pizza van coming in on 28th Dec - worth coming back early from your day adventures for this one and biting on a tasty slice while enjoying a view over Albany.
