About event

Build foundational outdoor instruction skills and begin your pathway into the ACIA guiding system.

Start your ACIA journey with the Top Rope Guide (TRG) training course delivered by Adventure Training Consultants. This is the entry point into Australia’s national climbing-instruction framework and provides the essential skills required to supervise and instruct climbers in basic outdoor top-rope environments.

Across the training weekend, you’ll cover:

  • Safe and efficient top-rope setups

  • Anchor building using natural and artificial placements

  • Group management and supervision

  • Communication and safety systems

  • Technical rigging fundamentals

  • Teaching movement foundations

This course is ideal for climbers wanting to support community programs, school groups, outdoor centres, or anyone wishing to build solid, assessment-ready skills under the ACIA scheme.

CAWA strongly encourages members looking to progress their outdoor skills or support our community events to consider nationally recognised ACIA training. These courses are the benchmark for safe and responsible instruction in Australia.

This is not a CAWA-run event. CAWA is only sharing this course as a recommended training opportunity.
